Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Would like to feel at home in many lands. Although I can't offer to share my little mattress right now, I can be a guide to the underground world of art in my hometown. I plan to explore Asia extensively in the next few years and don't speak any Asian language beyond basic k-pop, hehehe, so I hope to meet a lot of nice people who can translate the chaos in my head into some of the melodic wonderful languages in that vast continent. I am ecstatic at the prospect!!!

Interests

Art, pop-culture, history, photography. I am old enough to be cultured by inertia, but I don't pretend to have many erudite interests. Good food, a local drink, some basic language skills, is what makes me happy now a day. And music, youth, humor, new places ...

Music, Movies, and Books

K-pop, K-drama ... veni, vidi, vici ... it came, it saw and it conquered ... there is something profoundly futuristic and innocent in this pop-culture phenomenon for an old-Europe-schooled traditionalist like me. After lots of angst and leideschaft, the time has come for plain happy. And, and, and, I admire immensely the effort put into it by very young people, and the astronomic popularity they achieve. It is mind-boggling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gave birth and educated two children - my most extraordinary and valuable experiences of my life! Everything else pales in comparison. Although, I did have to run away through the Amazonian rain-forest to escape some local lords who had it with my back-then husband ... as you can see, I survived :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a storyteller, child-whisperer, doodler, and mother of all who need an ear or shoulder. A long life makes for good stories; plus, I plan to reach 150. I also love to listen to other people's stories, especially to the younger generation who has not yet become jaded, and is still full of dreams.
