About Me
Hello hello!! Pleased to meet you. I'm a tiny little human on a search to find magic in different corners of the globe. Because I'm a full time student studying Creative Writing and Art, t's been a while since I've had the time to travel outside the US and I'm immensely excited to be alive in this day and age. I love searching for oddities across the globe, writing poems, cloudwatching, hiking, and going on adventures with the people I meet abroad. I'm a very spiritual person who has a deep connection to nature and to other human beings willing to step outside their comfort zones and connect. I try to live my life by pillars of compassion, open-mindedness, and creative self-expression. My biggest superpower is noticing the detail and beauty in everything, from an insect on the roadside, to the raindrops on the windshield. At the end of the day, I'm just looking for a cozy end to every day, filled with gratitude and excitement.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This summer my plans unexpectedly changed, and so I'm roaming about the UK for a few months and would love to make some lifelong friendships in a short amount of time. I find that staying with local people creates a more genuine experience, sense of place, and connection to the land. There's nothing I love more than learning about the lives of others and all the intricacies, problems, delights and wonders of the land in which they call home. I want to be a traveller, and not a tourist.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I will dance to anything, especially if it's live music. My music taste is very eclectic. Some artists I particularly adore: Dr. Dog, Brockhampton, Glass Animals, Broken Bells, Simon & Garfunkel, Childish Gambino, Mozart, Mac DeMarco, Kamau, etc.
Movies: ANYTHING animated by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, especially Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and Kiki's delivery service because they bring magic back into the world. Other flics I dig: Moonrise Kingdom, Baraka, Captain Fantastic, Okja, Call Me By Your Name, The Shape of Water
Books: I am an avid reader, always looking for literature that will whisk me away to different conceptual habitats. I'm a huge fan of naturalist literature, namely Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard. I adore anything by Kurt Vonnegut, especially his books Galapagos and Breakfast of Champions. Also Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas and Skinny Legs and All by Tom Robbins. Others I enjoy: Ishmael, A Room of One's Own, The Shadow of the Wind, Cloud Atlas, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, The Humans.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I was a zookeeper for giant tortoises in the Galapagos Islands. The breeding center even named one after me, and it will outlive me and most likely, my future children.
Teach, Learn, Share
I live by the philosophy that the best teachers are my friends and that all my best friends are teachers. I'm willing to learn and share whatever knowledge I have about the world of creative writing, literature, and art. I want to learn everything humanly possible. I want to share moments.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Here is what I feel I can share: A genuine smile, a sense of adventure, my favorite songs, quotes, and dance moves. I want to share experiences that only last a night but will be remembered for a lifetime to come.
