About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I love observing, learning, and participating in cultural events wherever I go. While I can and do really enjoy the tourist venues, nothing tops exploring a city or country as a native (where possible). I like to go places where I can blend in

ABOUT ME

I'm a creative and original thinker. I was pretty inquisitive as a kid and am still one of those people who loves a good thrill. Dancing excites me, rock climbing recharges me, and sleeping in depends on the weather. :) My favorite food to cook is Ethiopian mesir wot (if I were to have a last meal request that would be it!) I enjoy people who are thoughtful, respectful, and have a little zest about them. To laugh is to live! I love a good sense of humor! I don't have or watch TV. I love a good film foreign or not so foreign.

PHILOSOPHY

Healing is work, not gambling. It is the work of inspiration, not manipulation. If we, the healers, are to do the work of helping bring our whole people together again, we need to know such work is the work of a community. It cannot bedone by an individual. It should not depend on people who do not understand the healing vocation….The work of healing is work for inspirers working long and steadily in a group that grows over generations, until there are inspirers, healers wherever our people are scattered, able to bring us together again.--Ayi Kwei Armah, The Healers

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in THE best part of Oakland. Walking distance to great food, dive bars, impromptu salsa dancing by the lake if you're lucky, and a chill atmosphere all around. I'm willing to host folks that have a sense of cleanliness (by no means am I a neat freak, I have my guy moments:), folks that have a sense of humor, and play nice! Kindness can get you extra nights. The building is relatively quiet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most recent adventure was in Xalapa, Mexico with one of my best friends. We hiked, ate amazing food, went zip lining and rafting! Que divertido!!! Xico has the most amazing mole and vistas that make more than your mouth water.
