About Me

We are Aaron and Jean-Karlo and we are going to Japan to experience the life and EAT RAMEN! We have never taken a trip together and we are really excited! We will have 12 days, April 8th to April 19th to explore and are landing in Tokyo and going to visit Kyoto. We want to live like a local and really get to know the Japanese lifestyle.

Jean-Karlo works at a nonprofit that helps homeless animals find forever homes and Aaron works at a nonprofit that connects corporations to other nonprofits who need volunteer support. We are very silly and love to giggle and just enjoy experiencing what life has to offer.

We discovered our love for ramen a year ago and we decided to take it to the next level by sojourning in Japan. We are both very interested in Japanese culture, cuisine and would love to stay with someone to gain some insight into Japanese living. Interested in meeting as many people as possible, eating A LOT, exploring secret spots, meeting some robots, and taking photos of this great adventure.

We love traveling, art, photography, yoga, biking, friends, food (especially RAMEN). We are both laid back, easy going, respectful, curious, silly, and love to have fun.

We cook a ton and would love to share with people some time in the kitchen, cooking your favorite meals and drinking yummy drinks of all varieties. John Karlo lived in a co-op for many years and we are both very interested in community and connecting with others on ideas, art, philosophy, magic, synchronicity, and happiness. We went to Burning Man last year and it is very special to have community all around the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have never couch surfed but John Karlo has hosted many when he was in college. We would love to meet and stay with locals and learn about Japanese culture....and eat ramen.

It is awesome to be able to share a home with friendly people and make friends while traveling!

Burned a tree on the street and beautiful people came out of nowhere to watch, and then simply disappeared

Jumped out of a plane with good people

Sleeping like a bum next to an ancient castle in a tent feels heavenly

Teach, Learn, Share

worms are essential for composting :)

Humming is a very soothing feeling which releases chemicals in your body, similar to a cats endorphin effect of purring

Running in the rain is the best thing ever.
