About Me
=== IMPORTANT INFO ===
We are on an around-the-world trip during the whole of 2020 and part of 2021.
We are right now in Asia and we should be in Latinamerica in 2021.
We would love to meet you if we are in or close to your place!
You can know more about our plans on our website, ask me about it or search by Párate a Vivir :)
=== IMPORTANT INFO ===
I am a simple person living life as I always wished with my wife by my side, just being happy together and enjoying everything we can.
In this profile, I will describe to us both (my wife Rocío and me) because we are going to be traveling together to every place, although it may have more from me because I am writing it, and we won't have time to manage two different accounts!
In the last five years, we have lived in Poland during our Erasmus, started to work on what we are passionate about (software engineer and teacher for little kids respectively), become independent, got married, had our dreamed honeymoon and moved from the south of Spain to the south of England for two years to discover the whole UK.
Now, starting in 2020, we are going to achieve our big dream, a trip around the world of 1'5-2 years!!!
About us, we are very talkative if we feel comfortable and someone wants to listen although at the beginning we may seem really shy (but it's not true!), we are open-minded and we are looking to increase this breach, curious about everything and very honest, maybe too much.
I can't tell you much more, give us some years to know more about ourselves. I will try to say the most of us below, I think that the more I write, the closer you are to know about how we are.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We want to travel as much as possible and meet new people. Couchsurfing is a unique opportunity to have great experiences, we have realised so many times that the best memories of wonderful places we have visited are because of the people we met there, giving us some moments that we couldn't have lived by ourselves or as simple tourists.
When we are traveling, we like to know about the customs of the people living there, about their way to understand life, their culture, food and the possibilities they give us to enjoy their city in a unique way. Every host/couchsurfer is a surprise to discover.
For us, Couchsurfing goes further than just traveling for free, that is perfectly good too, it has happened to us to meet people very generous that couldn't share any time with us but still hosted us and we are very grateful for that!
But other times we have met some amazing people that have become our friends, from which we have great memories.
Interests
Traveling, all that this means and everything that can make you have or feel a great experience when you're not traveling: books, films, tv series, video games, music, going out for dinner or staying at home with some friends, going to some strange spectacle...
We want to discover the world, discover their countries, cities, cultures, people, food, temples, etc.
The only thing that we try to avoid: night parties/clubs/discos or any place where the goal is to get drunk while the loud music doesn't allow you to talk. We would prefer to chill out with some good and low music and talk a lot while we get a bit drunk.

Music, Movies, and Books
We like many styles of music.
I use to play all my music randomly and I can change from Coldplay's Paradise to Guns N' Roses's Paradise City or maybe some Eminem old song, Michael Jackson, Korn, Linkin Park, System of a Down, RHCP, Orishas, some reggae and even go from classical music or Louis Amstrong old jazz to Marilyn Manson.
Rocío also likes almost all kinds of Latin music as she loves dancing.
We love reading fiction books, we always read at least some pages every night before going to sleep.
If I have to think of someone special the first that comes to my mind is Tolkien, Dragonlance universe or Dracula. I enjoy stories with some kind of magic, medieval or not.
Anyway, I try to avoid books from the present time as far as possible because there are a lot of old ones that, in my opinion, for sure are more worthy than any trending one. I mean these books that everyone knows something about them but nobody really reads. This is what I want to read. Recently, for example, I have read a big compilation with everything of Edgar Allan Poe, another one from Lovecraft, Homero's Iliad and Odyssey (don't mention me Aeneid please) and Dracula, that I personally recommend the second part, written for some of Stoker's descendant, maybe this can be my favourite book as it surprised me much more than I expected.
And about movies, I have to say again that we love it. It's unavoidable because we found in them the same as in books: live other experiences, other lives. And also our taste is very similar to our music style (or lack of it), we can see any kind of film if it has a great history, make you feel something or make you meditate: The Godfather, The Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, A beautiful mind, Meet Joe Black, Johnny got his gun, Life is beautiful, The green mile, Bicentennial Man, American Beauty, Titanic, Braveheart, Men in Black 3 (amazing final)...
And also other movies just to have some fun like Me, Myself and Irene, Find me guilty, Red, The Whole Nine Yards, Ali G, Crank, Fast and Furious (1 and 2), Pitch Black, Matrix...
About tv series, we may be a bit outdated, everyone keeps talking about many series that we would like to see but we haven't had any time yet to do it. Personally, I like ones like The Sopranos, House, Prison Break or Band of Brothers.
Currently, we are watching American Horror Story, Rocío loves horror film/series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As I said in the "About me/us", the most incredible thing we have done is everything during the last five years (2014-2019): we have been living in Poland during our Erasmus (visiting almost all Europe in 5 months), started to work in what we love (software engineer and teacher for little kids), become independent, got married, had our dreamed honeymoon, moved from the south of Spain to the south of England and discover almost all UK and Ireland in one year and a half.
For now, this has been the best time of our lives. I couldn't wish anything more, but... we are going to beat it for sure in 2020!!!
Our next amazing thing is a world trip of 1'5-2 years around Asia and America!
Teach, Learn, Share
We have much more to learn than to teach, but if you want we can try to help you to learn Spanish/English, we can share our adventures with you, our thoughts about living ways (we use to have very opposite ideas to the rest of the people, I don't know why), Rocío can help you with your kids, to play the piano or to dance Zumba, I can solve some computers/technology problem or cooks you a Spanish omelet (totally different to the French one) for example.
In any case, we can have a great time talking about something in common, we will be glad to share anything that might be interesting :)
We are curious about almost everything, every country has something special to discover that may not seem interesting to you but it does for us!
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can share our time with you in exchange, cook something for dinner after a day discovering your city/town, help you with anything you need as long as we can be of help (and it is not illegal!), or anything you may think of!!!
Just ask us, please!! We are very glad that you are considering to host us.
