Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a very social creature and love meeting people and sharing ideas and experiences. I'm hoping this will be a far more interesting experience than staying in a hotel.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: From Enya to Skinny Puppy and almost everything in between. Mostly Rock'n'Roll, Alternative, New Age, World, Folk, Kirtan, Gothic/Industrial, Pop, Oldies, Gospel, some Country, a little Rap. If it's not too repetitive, predictable, or derivative, and has somewhat thoughtful lyrics, I probably like it.

BOOKS: The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (and other books by Douglas Adams); Lamb: The Gospel of Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal (and other books by Christopher Moore), The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho), I Sat By the River Piedro and Wept (Paulo Coelho), Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and Witching Hour series, Buddhism Plain and Simple, The Science of Mind (Ernest Holmes).

MOVIES: Too many to list. Favorite classics include The Princes Bride, Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail. Recent favorites include The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, About Time, and others with names escaping me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Define "Amazing". Some things I thought were amazing: Skydiving, amazing transcendental experiences in meditation, amazing healing results for many of my massage clients.

Some interesting things I've done: 5 Triathlons (Sprint Distance: 0.25mi Swim, 10-13mi Bike, 5k Run); Written many songs, was the lead singer in 2 alt. rock bands and recorded a solo CD; Served as a US Army Medic in South Korea and Georgia (the US state), including working with a sniper school, Ranger school, and war games against the Navy Seals.
