Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

Take pictures of old buildings and hear people talk different.

ABOUT ME

I'm an extremely funny person. I fit in wherever I could get in. I can be quite witty and silly but I always challenged myself to learn as much as I can about everything. I love a good conversation. If you are interested in films, I'm your man. If you are into history, I'm your man. If you are into spirituality, then I'm still your guy. Regardless of the topic, from sports to philosophy, goodness gracious, I'm your candidate. I would consider myself a well-rounded person. Back in college I took a personality test and the results said that I was 50% introverted and 50% extroverted and this seems to hold true. Sometimes I like to be the life of the party and other times, I just want to get away from everybody and just be. Either way, I'm open to everything.

PHILOSOPHY

Personally, I try to do everything with a sense of humor. Life is too short but, ironically, too long also to be so serious. Obviously, there are times when you need to be serious but even in those times, there is some humor to be found. That really is my basis for living.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have stayed at people's home before and I could make myself very useful. I don't need much space, just a place to put my head and I'm cool. I'll be willing to host my fellow CS people when they come to Miami. People can't wait to stay in the Milton Manor. I'm also down to hang out and show you the real Miami. Not the one that has been shown in Scarface, Miami Vice or any rap videos of the last 15 years. I know where all the clubs are but if you want the authentic Miami experience, I'm your guy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had several CouchSurfing experiences and they have gone better than I expected. It's just cool to be around travelers and pick their brain for awhile and hear about their travels and stuff. I have stayed at a couple of Couchsurfers' homes and both times it went wonderfully. I was able to make myself part of the family and just enjoy the daily life of my host. It is really great to just do things with other people. People you have no connection to but that are willing to open your home to you.

Along with books I like to read the following items also: scripts, blogs, message boards, news articles, menus, instructional booklets, pamphlets, political comic strips, textbooks, my students' work, and personal notes. My favorite books when I was younger were the Choose-Your-Own Adventure books.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

My friend and I were crossing the Golden Gate bridge but the sun was setting as we were getting to the other side. To avoid getting stuck, we ran the entire length of the Golden Gate Bridge back to San Francisco. As we were getting closer to the end of the bridge, the walkway was closed off by a large fence and I had to jump it to get off the bridge. Did I mentioned this all happened in the middle of the night in almost total darkness.

Insegna, impara, condividi

Since I'm a teacher, I have a natural tendency to just convey information to the people around me. Specifically, I could teach English, film culture, science concepts, old school hip hop, how to box, how to play tennis, how to take better pictures, Nicaraguan vulgar words, how to overcome your deepest fears, and ultimately, how to let go of yourself.

Here's what I want to learn, even though I'm Hispanic, it can't hurt to improve my Spanish a little. I would like to learn how to write it. I can dance and have rhythm but I want to get seamless with my floor moves. I want to learn about people's backgrounds and personal histories. I like to learn about the quirkiness from the locals. I want to learn to overcome my own remaining fears. As of now, I'm open to learning about anything cause it's always the unexpected things that make the most impact.

I'm willing to share my sense of humor, my time, my ear (I'm a great listener), and my view on life and the world we live in.
