About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience the world.

ABOUT ME

You'll probably hear me before you see me, at least that's what everyone tells me. I'm a pretty short girl, so I guess I feel like I need to overcompensate for my height. I'm always up for anything be it chilling, watching movies, building snowmen, eating gingerbread houses, making origami, etc. I'm not easily invested in people or relationships, but those I care about, I hold close to my heart.

I am loving life. Life operates on karma, or so I think. I believe in getting mad... for a second. There's no point in wasting time being mad, or sad, over things you can't control. I like to take action. Sitting around, waiting for things to come around is a no go. Nothing will ever get done. I guess this makes me an existentialist! I think that I have way too much ambition, but there's nothing wrong with that!

PHILOSOPHY

EMBRACE LIFE. Life is what you make of it.

We can't always have good days and when a bad day does come along, I know that tomorrow can only be better. I guess the reason why I don't stress out as much is because I know that the things I would be worrying about at the time being will only be trivial matters later on. What matters most is to have faith and KNOW that things always turn out all right in the end. I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason... it's just a matter of how we interpret the present situations and how we choose to handle them. Yes, things happen for a reason, but the choices and decisions are still up to us. Nothing is concrete or will forever be stable, so we must learn to be flexible and be accepting of change. After all, that is the ONLY thing constant in life.

I believe life is all about experience, so I try to experience as many things as I can. I will try anything once, maybe even twice. What can I say? I like to seize opportunities! I'm not perfect, I don't claim to be perfect, and I don't expect others to be. With that said, I make my fair share of mistakes. But hey, what better way to learn than to learn from your mistakes? I may not have a set plan in life, but simply knowing that everything happens for a reason is enough for me. My goal is to live life to the max, and so far, I haven't been disappointed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't had too many hosting experiences as of yet, but I'm sure there will be plenty in the future! I hope to be just as good of a host as those who hosted me during my travels.

I'm absolutely, positively, definitely an advocate for the Couchsurfing Project! Couchsurfing is a great experience that I highly recommend to anyone and everyone who is not only doing some traveling, but is also interested in culture immersion. It is a much better, more meaningful experience to be able to see another city, town, country through the eyes of a local. You're not just there to see the sights; soak in the culture! You might also gain new friendships along the way. =]

Interests

I enjoy everything that life has to offer - concerts, nature, traveling, photography, music, learning, dancing, ocean, sports, long drives, READING, running, spontaneity, and meeting new people.

I do love school and learning in general. If I had my way, I would be in school forever and have six different degrees; anything and everything interests me! Remember: knowledge is power.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To start off the year 2013, my husband and I completed the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu - a fascinating experience! Machu Picchu just would not be the same without the hiking experience. The trail was humbling and I loved the sense of accomplishment upon completion.

Participating in a service-learning project in Nicaragua. The experience opened my eyes to matters that had never crossed my mind, allowed me to realize several facts of life, and inspired me to lead a life full of giving.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sharing means caring.

"Living life is like putting the beach into a jar. The point isn't to fit everything in; it is to attend to the most important things first - the big, beautiful rocks - the most valuable people and experiences - and fit the lesser things in around them. Otherwise, the best things might get left out." - James Patterson

What I Can Share with Hosts

Joel and I can make a mean Thai chicken curry (red, green, or yellow). I can scramble together mouth-watering chocolate chip cookies!

We would love to share and exchange travel adventures, experiences, and music.
