Quick note, I'm straight :)

Just when someone asks you to describe yourself is when you forget every single thing you know about yourself! :)

I consider myself an optimistic realist. I go into things without any expectations. If they turn out well, hey, that´s great! If not, that´s life... I definitely play by my own set of rules, and visiting different parts of the world made me very sensitive to other cultures and ideas. I love new experiences and look forward to exploring new places.

Around the end of 2015, I moved to live in the States after working and living in the Middle East and Africa region. I work remotely as a consultant for an international IT company, and I don’t live in a specific place in the states.

Be involved with whatever the community is doing. Host and surf with whoever I can.

I surfed once and it was a wonderful experience, and I volunteered for a long weekend Couch Crash party in Ohio. I want to meet interesting people, hear the occasional great story, make memories in unconventional ways, and get the inside scoop on the new places I travel. Also, I'd rather make friends than waste time at boring hotels!

Interests

I enjoy checking out new places, meeting new people, and trying new things. I am interested in meeting anybody who can inspire me to be better and hope to do the same for others.

My interests include, but are not limited to: swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, geekery, optimal time management, traveling, optimism, coffee, wine, local cuisine, cheap beer, random bars, remote work, technology, programming, entrepreneurship, startups, play board games, dodgeball, volleyball, skiing, freethought, skydiving, bungee jumping and other adrenaline activities.

Music, Movies, and Books

I personally love downtempo electronica, indie, pop and anything that sounds energetic and happy but I’m open-minded and like things that fit the scenario.

As far as movies go, I love a good sci-fi, comedy, mystery, foreign and documentary. Some of my favorite movies: The Island, The Matrix, The Hangover, Horrible Bosses, Ocean's Eleven, P.K. and That Sugar Film. TV Shows: Game of Thrones, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Rome and Death Note.

Other than that, here's a random list of other things: skydiving over the Palm in Dubai, exploring the salt caves in Poland, scuba diving in the magical corals of the Red Sea, scuba diving through underwater caves and shipwrecks in the Philippines and with baby sharks in the Maldives, exploring a jungle in Nepal with wild tigers and rhinos, biking around Amsterdam, traveling Europe by train, road tripping to the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland, and bungee jumping in Bali, Nepal and Whistler.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share tech help, teach if possible and travel enthusiasm. I'm happy to help with cooking, fixing things or tidying too. I'm new to the community but I'm sure I will identify more things to teach, learn and share!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m perfectly happy staying up until the wee hours of the morning drinking wine and talking about اى شى. I'm also quite content to spend the majority of my time exploring your city solo and staying out of your hair. My preference is to get to know a host and to have them show me their favorite places and things, but I can totally be flexible. I clean up after myself, love pets, and I try to be as courteous as possible.
