About Me

Carpe Diem.

I'm currently traveling through Europe from June 1st to August 8th. I left Miami, Fl June 1st and landed in Paris June 2nd. It's been a challenging adventure to travel with a bicycle and 3 panniers (bicycle bags) weighing at 35kg (without bicycle). The challenges are made worth it with the people that I've met along the way and the the shared kindness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet great people and survive in Europe. I'm on a low budget and many of my travels have been going city to city via bicycle. I've had to travel between 70 to 120km a day in the heat of Europe.

At first, I thought I was on couch surfing to save money. Now, after experiencing just one host, I realize it's so much more. It's the exchange of stories and local culture with each other. I've fallen in love with the kindness of strangers, food and great stories.

Interests

I'm pretty open minded when it comes to trying new things. To be clear, trying new things means, hobbies, sports, foods, museums, music and cultural events.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a fan of classic rock, alternative, jazz, bossanova, argentine tango, rap, edm, country, folk, classical and some things in-between.

The last book I read was called Sophie's world. Quite an interesting adventure through philosophers over the past millennia written as a narrative.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There have been so many things that have happened in the last month and I'm more then happy to share those experiences in person.

In this trip alone I rode over the pyrenees mountains on bicycle with 3 filled panniers. Broke my bicycle. Fell in love in Paris. Ran with the Bulls in Pamplona. Fell asleep in an abandoned building in San Sebastian.

Jumped off a bridge. Swam with dolphins.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a Cuban American there are a few things that I can share about my culture. I can share the story of my family leaving Cuba, the recipes of my grandmother passed down to me, and my salsa dancing skills. Interestingly, Italian culture is similar to my cuban heritage. A strong sense of love for family, importance of food & dinner with family, similar moral character; hell, we even look similarly.

Teach me about your culture. Teach me about where you live and I'll teach you how to dance like a Cuban. And you'll make a friend who can host you in Miami.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will always volunteer to help and I don't often say no to requests. I have many stories, photos, and videos of my travels so far.
