About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Well, in an ideal world I would like to visit each and every place in this world. Sadly this is hard but hey, I have just started...Honestly I first want to complete my motherland, India, being such a versatile and awesome place. Travelling is what makes me go crazy any day. I believe it is one of the great ways to discover oneself. Also it teaches you about so many things.
Also I want to try every possible adventure sports available. I tried bungee Jumping and Zip flyer, they were awesome. Looking for more of such adventure.
I am also pursuing my PhD so it is one of my goals to finish this. Later I want to apply what I have learned to make this world a better place education wise.

ABOUT ME

Well, don't want to say too much about me. I think you should better find out yourself when you will meet. In a nutshell, I'm a happy-go-lucky, very curious, little geeky, friendly and cheerful guy who loves to travel, wants to know about different cultures and take good things out of it and wants to enjoy every day of life living fullest. I believe that in life, before taking any decisions you should think about its impact and almost always there would be a choice between good thing and bad thing in everything, better to choose good one even though its hard some times. Honesty and hard work pay off always.

PHILOSOPHY

Be nice and kind, this makes world a better place.

Follow your heart always, everything else that you worry about will fall in place automatically.

Also one quote of Gandhi I find very inspiring,
“Be the change that you wish to see in the world”.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted till date thrice and believe me, each time it gets better as an experience. What better way could it be other than spending a day or two with someone from other part of the world showing what you do and where you live and also simultaneously get to know about them and their culture. In future, I would like to have such experiences more. It's truly amazing to see how fast two or more unknown persons become life-long friends through their common interest and have good time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All the times it was awesome but they are in different ways. But the most important thing is, I learnt something each time from them. I also had been hosted some times during my travel. And it was so much more than what I had expected. I learned first hand how local people live and get a sense out of it, so pure a feeling. I enjoyed it, fallen in love, felt loved, enjoyed good food and everything. So it has been so far exhilarating experience for me.

Interests

Well, truth be told, I'm interested in so many things. Mostly traveling, hiking, photography, running, cycling, reading books and sometimes just doing nothing(try that, gives me immense pleasure). I think I get high up in the mountains, I mean its as close I can get to meditation as I think its possible for me.
Its so calm and peaceful up there.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, this question deserves a very long answer.

First, lets talk about music. Since I was a kid, I used to enjoy hard-rock, not that i understand them but the just insane amount of bit-rates always gets me high. And this continues for some time, till i found that soothing musics are actually soothing(funny!). Now more or less, I always listen to instrumental stuff. Also I enjoy Tagore songs(songs written by Rabindranath Tagore, first asian poet to win nobel in literature and yeah, he was a bengali too) as these have very strong lyrics.

Now books, well, being able to understand the written words only in two languages in this world has always in shortcomings. So I read only english and bengali books.
In bengali, I like to read mostly short stories and novel and so is in english. But in english, I like to read general adventure stuff more than anything else.

Movies, mainly inspirational, adventure stuff, thriller, sometimes good old romance and anything little maverick type is awesome.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many things to list down. Let me recall some,

I have seen in Bhutan, two 70 years old couple hiking and they told me, "if we can do it, you should do it". Amazing.

While travelling in some parts of India, hitch-hiking was the ultimate fun I had. Almost always it was an amazing experience.

Bungee jumping(tried in Nepal) is scary man, trust me.

Also tried Zip flyer, pure fun.

Went to climb two 5000 mts peak in december 2014. Full of snow but worth it.

Ride in a train over 900 kms without tickets and didn't get caught.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to listen to every bit of a crazy story, if you have one. I like to tell you about my life a bit also and I'm sure you will enjoy. If you can teach me something, trust me, I won't let you go empty handed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My own way of living, own way of thinking. My weird philosophy, i guess. To show you around to get a feel of how locals live. My little bit knowledge of computer stuff and other times my exciting travel stories.
