Overview
About Me
There's nothing like getting lost in a new place and absorbing their way of life.
I love meeting and talking to new people. Open-minded and liberal. We could talk about psychology, music, books, movies, places and even politics. I could make a few Indian dishes for you, if you'd like it!
In travel, I am most excited to just walk around the streets and observe architecture and the people. I also love going to museums, concerts, galleries and parks. Not a party person, but I do like the occasional red wine and TEA! I love tea!
Here in India, I work for a non-profit running gender sensitization programmes for school children. So I have a lot to talk about equality around the world. I hope that my travel will improve my work back here.
I'm unable to host because my roommate has social anxiety. I hope to host once one of us moves.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am getting started on exploring this world. I've never been out of the country before. Residents make up a big part of a place's culture. It wouldn't be travel without meaningful interactions with the residents.
I've had epals from around the world since I was 14. It was amazing to read about their lives on emails and talk to them about my everyday life. Couchsurfing takes it one level better, where you can interact with them in person. I wouldn't pass up that opportunity.
Interests
I love watching science videos on YouTube (SciShow, AsapScience, DChannel). Also comedy videos (especially John Oliver's Last Week Tonight). I enjoy walking on the beach during evenings. I live close to the beach.
I love star gazing. I don't really know the names of the stars, but I absolutely looking at the night sky filled with stars. I love eating cheesecake, idlis, chocolate and burgers.

Music, Movies, and Books
Reading: Contemporary Indian Lit (Amitav Ghosh, Jhumpa Lahiri), thrillers (Stieg Larsson), short stories (O Henry), etc. I read a variety of books. Non-fiction on economics, psychology and more.
Music: Indie, folk and alternative rock. Coldplay, Muse, Novo Amor, The Paper Kites, Mumford and Sons, OneRepublic, Dustin Tebbutt, Bon Iver, Young The Giant
Movies: Independent drama movies are my favorite. Short Term 12, Winter's Bone, Theory of Everything, Life is Beautiful, The Dark Knight, Memento, Room, Juno.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Before I was even born, as a sperm, I totally kicked ass and came first in a huge race with thousands of other sperm. :D
I've travelled with my girlfriends to a couple of places within India. This is awesome, considering the safety record for women in India.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can talk about Indian history, politics and current affairs. Also about psychology, atheism and science.
I am open to learning about your worldviews. I've only seen Europe from afar so far. I don't know the people and the places up close. I would love to learn history, pop culture and the small things that make Europe, well, Europe.
What I Can Share with Hosts
“I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in my life. And I am horribly limited.” Sylvia Plath.
I can share stories from my everyday life, because isn't ordinary life the most extraordinary story? I can make a few Indian dishes for you, if you'd like. Perhaps you'd like to a few dance moves from Bollywood.
