About Me

Hello girls and guys, I'm a filmmaker from Croatia hoping to make it big. I'm a decent, well behaved guy, but every full moon I turn into a party animal. I love deep, intelligent conversations that stretch into the small hours of the night, be it about history of Bolshevism, the future of Europe, or the aesthetics of David Lynch.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There are 7 billion people in the world and I have met zero.point.almost-nothing percent. But, you know, really make a connection, I'm not into having a lot of superficial acquaintances, I really do wanna get to know people, especially since I wanna be a filmmaker. I love to hear people talk about their lives, how they experience the world, what troubles them and what gives them joy. So I'm completely without prejudice.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like books that pull no punches, and the last two I read that were reall heavyweights: "My Brilliant Friend" by Elena Ferrante, "The End of Eddy" by Edouard Louis. In films I always adored Lynch, Kennet Anger, Antonioni, you name it, I love all kinds of film, realistic and oneiric, mainstream and underground, highbrow and lowbrow. As for music, I have to admit that the last time I heard a good band was years ago, now I mostly listen to jazz and electronica/techno. Before, I listen to Pulp, Cave, Cash and the great Grace Jones. I like my music hotblooded, brokenhearted and a bit kinky. :) Also into great hazz, from Allen Toussaint to a bunch of older stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I turned a nasty breakup into a gorgeous documentary short film. To be able to share your emotions through an artform is just... wow.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about why Yugoslavia fell apart. Maybe show you some Krav Maga moves. And explain how David Lynch revolutionized narratie filmmaking. I'm a film critic so be carefull asking for my opinion, because once I start it's hard to shut up.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, booze, ideas, time and the dancefloor. :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, England, France, Germany, Italy, Macedonia, Montenegro, Morocco, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, United States
