Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Lovre, 24 years old, I live in Zadar, BUT
for most of the year I live in Zagreb, where I study comparative literature.
I speak Croatian (and the close relatives) and English fluently and my Korean is somewhat good, and I'm not too bad in French and German either. Hopefully 1-2 more of those in foreseeable future ^^
I waste my time playing the guitar or the drums and composing, reading novels, writing, playing older PC games, taking uncommon pictures with my phone, drinking coffee, skateboarding, walking, cycling, being awake when i should be asleep, I drive, I don't have a pet, I don't smoke, I eat meat, I'm afraid of heights... not pushy about my views so I hope you aren't either.
What completely changed my life for the better was a book on Japanese cinema I accidentally ended up buying when I was 18, and that's the #1 topic I can go on about to no end. That's how I then got into Korean cinema (-> culture -> language) too and it all resulted in a semester long academic exchange in Gwangju.
Most of all I am here to joke around, so feel free to join and waste time together~
The most beautiful place I've ever visited is Taipei.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, interested in meeting new people and seeing places. I found out I feel better as soon as I'm away from home, so :D but no, I'm not doing it solely for myself and my inspiration and experiences - it's a two-way experience and some lonesome adventures may be thrilling, but they are worth nothing compared to what you can get with company that suits you

Music, Movies, and Books
Show me what you have written! My favorite books would be Baol, Nazi Literature in the Americas, Don Quijote, 100 Years of Solitude, The Invention of Morel, Berlin Alexanderplatz, The Last Lover. Shorter prose by Murakami Haruki; we share the bday! Tom Robbins, Rushdie, Nabokov and some others write beautifully too.
Converge, Peste Noire, Number Girl, Joyce Manor, Ampere... a bunch of screamy and noisy music. Raw and dreamy underground stuff as well.
Survive Style 5+, Ichi the Killer, The Bird People in China, Symbol, Chungking Express, Fallen Angels, Woman of the Dunes, Floating Weeds, Kaili Blues, Kung Fu Hustle, Aoi Haru, 3-Iron, Shaolin Soccer, Battle Royale, Sonatine, Birdcage Inn, My Sassy Girl, Ping Pong, Snowpiercer, Brazil.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
self-taught in music, opening beer bottles with my teeth, learned the headstand in 3 days - three not so amazing things can count as one of those
Teach, Learn, Share
- teach - the horribly complex Croatian language, that headstand if you have 3 days
- learn - more languages and more languages, cultural insight, youth culture of your place, old beliefs of your place, your jokes, proverbs & sayings... let it come as a surprise!
