Warsaw is Poland’s capital and largest city, and it’s different from most. Having been almost totally destroyed during World War II and then rebuilt, the city is formed of parts that might seem totally separate, but somehow fit perfectly together. Visitors can start exploring Warsaw at Old Town Market Place and wander down the streets that branch off in any direction to see the most historical parts of the city. Admire the fantastic Baroque architecture of the Wilanow Palace and the museum housed inside, one of the most important in Poland.

Learn about Warsaw’s fighting spirit at the Uprising Museum, where you’ll hear all about how the Polish Home Army attempted to liberate the city from Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia at the same time in 1944. To get out and enjoy some fresh air, make your way to the library of Warsaw University and climb the public stairs up to the roof, where relaxing gardens and amazing views await.
