A haven for dreamers and risk-takers looking for that big break, Los Angeles is a huge sun-drenched metropolis with a glamorous personality. So much of American pop culture was born here, and there are many more artists and performers waiting to become “the next big thing.” Visitors can get the usual attractions done first, like taking photos of the Hollywood sign and strolling down the Walk of Fame to pick out their favorite celebrities. Then head to Venice Beach to test the surf and check out the street performers, skateboarders, and artists that spend their days here in the sun.

For a great view of the Los Angeles skyline in a much more relaxed setting, rent a paddleboat at the lake in Echo Park. To get a good look at Southern California’s natural beauty, drive down the Pacific Coast Highway to see miles and miles of rock formations edging up to gorgeous beaches. Bring a blanket and head down to one of these beaches for one of the most beautiful sunsets you’ll ever see.
