Edmonton, in the Canadian province of Alberta, is a city with something to offer every kind of traveler. Art lovers, history buffs, and shopaholics will all feel right at home here. One of the main attractions of Edmonton is the Art Gallery of Alberta; with an amazing exterior designed in the Brutalist style, the Gallery is home to over 6,000 works of art, a restaurant, and a theater. The West Edmonton Mall is the largest shopping mall in North America, with an indoor amusement park, waterpark, and indoor lagoon with a replica of the Santa Maria. Even if you hate shopping, this mall will amaze you.
Step back in time with a visit to Fort Edmonton Park, a living history museum containing original and rebuilt historical structures representing the history of Edmonton. Here, you’ll see covered wagons, a steam engine, and buildings from the 1800’s. For something more modern, head over to the Muttart Conservatory’s glass and metal pyramids, which house the city’s beautiful botanical gardens and make for some really great pictures.
